Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 27, 2026 · wanance.com

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how you use the platform. Cookies cannot access other files on your device or execute programs.

2. Cookies We Use

We use the following categories of cookies on wanance.com and within the Wanance app:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the platform to function. These include authentication tokens, session identifiers, and security cookies (CSRF protection). You cannot opt out of these without losing access to the service.
  • Preference cookies — remember your language selection and display settings so you do not have to reconfigure them on each visit.
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — help us understand aggregate usage patterns, such as which features are most used and where users encounter friction. These cookies collect anonymised data and do not identify you personally. You may decline these at any time.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or behavioural profiling technologies.

3. Local Storage & Similar Technologies

In addition to cookies, we use browser localStorage to store your cookie consent preference (wanance-cookie-consent) and certain UI settings. This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

You can clear this data at any time through your browser's developer tools or privacy settings.

4. Third-Party Cookies

We use a limited set of third-party services that may set their own cookies:

  • Google Analytics— analytics cookies under Google's privacy policy. IP anonymisation is enabled. Data is retained for 14 months.
  • MercadoPago— payment processor cookies during checkout only, governed by MercadoPago's privacy policy.

We do not permit third parties to place advertising or tracking cookies on our platform.

5. How to Manage Cookies

You have several options for managing cookies:

  • Consent banner— when you first visit Wanance, a banner gives you the option to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie Policy" link in the footer.
  • Browser settings — all major browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the app from functioning correctly.
  • Google Analytics opt-out — install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being sent to Google Analytics across all sites.

6. Cookie Retention

Cookies are retained for varying durations depending on their type:

  • Session cookies — deleted when you close your browser.
  • Authentication cookies — retained for up to 30 days to keep you logged in.
  • Preference cookies — retained for up to 12 months.
  • Analytics cookies — retained for up to 14 months as per Google Analytics default settings.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our services. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised date. For significant changes, registered users will be notified by email at least 14 days in advance.

8. Contact
