Question 1

What is Wanance?

Accepted Answer

A personal finance app to record your income and expenses, see where your money goes and plan with budgets, savings goals, debts and investments. It works on the web, on your computer (installable) and on Android and iOS.

Question 2

Where do I start?

Accepted Answer

Create your wallets (bank accounts, cash, Nequi…) with their current balance, then record movements. Categories tell you what the money was for; tags group movements across categories (a trip, a project).

Question 3

Is it free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Free plan is free forever and includes the essentials, your annual report and savings challenges. Paid plans add things like bank emails, AI capture, subscriptions, reports and more limits. You can see them on the Pricing page.

Question 4

How do I split a purchase into several categories?

Accepted Answer

In the movement form, turn on "Split into categories" and add a row per category with its amount (for example groceries and cleaning). The parts must add up to the total. Each part counts in its category's budget and reports.

Question 5

Can I record movements by voice or with a photo?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Send a voice note, a receipt photo or a PDF and the AI fills in the amount, date, category and wallet. By default it's saved directly; if you prefer to check each one, turn on review in Settings.

Question 6

Can I import my history from Excel or my bank?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in Settings → Your data → Import movements (CSV). Repeated movements are skipped, so importing the same file twice doesn't duplicate.

Question 7

Do transfers between my wallets count as expenses?

Accepted Answer

No. A transfer takes money out of one wallet and puts it into another: your total stays the same, so it doesn't count as an expense or an income.

Question 8

I sent money to someone and they gave it back in cash. How do I record it?

Accepted Answer

Create a transfer from the wallet you sent it from (e.g. Nequi) to your Cash wallet and turn on "It's an exchange with someone" with their name. It doesn't count as an expense or an income. If a bank email already recorded it as an expense, edit it and change the type to Transfer.

Question 9

Can I transfer between wallets with different currencies?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Choose the destination wallet and write how much arrived in its currency; each wallet keeps its real balance.

Question 10

How do bank emails work?

Accepted Answer

You forward your bank's alerts (purchases, transfers) to your personal Wanance address with a Gmail filter. The AI reads each email and records the movement. We only process the alerts you forward, never your inbox.

Question 11

Can I get a notice when a bank email is recorded?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In Bank emails choose how to be notified: email, Telegram or only inside the app (WhatsApp is coming soon).

Question 12

How does subscription detection work?

Accepted Answer

We look at your expenses of the last 13 months and find what repeats every month or year for almost the same amount (Netflix, Spotify, the gym…). You see how much they cost per year, the next charge and which ones raised their price.

Question 13

What are savings challenges?

Accepted Answer

Short goals for a week or a month: save an amount, don't spend more than a limit (in total or in a category) or have some days without expenses. Progress updates with your movements and you can repeat them to keep a streak.

Question 14

What is "Your year in Wanance"?

Accepted Answer

Your year in numbers: income, expenses, what you saved, your top categories and places, your most expensive month and a comparison with the previous year. You can share it as an image.

Question 15

How do I earn points in the league?

Accepted Answer

Points come from habits, never from money. Logging at least one movement a day gives +10, and each extra one +2 (up to 5 extra a day). Only movements dated today or up to 2 days before count, and importing a CSV gives no points. Your streak multiplies what you earn: x1.1 from 7 days, x1.25 from 30 and x1.5 from 100. You also get +30 for logging 5 days in a week, +40 or +100 for a weekly or monthly challenge, +10 a week for saving into a goal, +25 per achievement and +50 for finishing the month without going over any budget.

Question 16

How do weekly leagues work?

Accepted Answer

Every Monday you join a group of up to 30 players in your league: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum or Diamond. Whoever earns the most points that week wins. When the week closes, the top ~20% move up a league and, in groups of 10 or more, the last ones move down; finishing with 0 points also moves you down. You can also see global, country and friends boards, and every week the country with the best average points per player wins coins for its players.

Question 17

Can other people see my money?

Accepted Answer

No. Joining the league is optional. If you join, others only see your alias, avatar, country, league, points and streak — never your name, email, amounts, categories or movements. You can leave the league whenever you want from the league screen.

Question 18

What are coins and streak freezes?

Accepted Answer

Everything that gives points also gives coins. You spend them in the shop: streak freezes, extra AI captures for the month, an extra wallet or categories for 30 days, a Pro week, a Pro week to gift, themes, avatar frames and app icons. A streak freeze is used automatically if you miss a day, so your streak survives. Paid plans give you 1 free freeze every month (Teams, 2).

Question 19

What do the winners get?

Accepted Answer

Each season lasts a month. The top 3 worldwide and in each country get the champion frame, a dated title, 200 coins and a month of Pro to gift to anyone, and the top 10 appear in the Hall of Fame. Reaching Gold and Diamond unlocks exclusive themes and frames that can't be bought. There are no raffles or cash prizes.

Question 20

How do I pay for a plan?

Accepted Answer

From Plans in the app, with MercadoPago (card, PSE and more). The subscription renews on its own and you can cancel it whenever you want from My subscription: you keep access until the end of the period.

Question 21

What happens to my data if I go back to Free?

Accepted Answer

Nothing is deleted. You keep all your data; you only lose access to the paid features and limits until you upgrade again.

Question 22

How do I make a backup?

Accepted Answer

In Settings → Your data → Download backup. To recover it, use Restore a backup: it only adds what's missing, never deletes and doesn't duplicate.

Question 23

Who can see my financial information?

Accepted Answer

Only you (and the people you invite to a team, with the permissions you give them). We don't sell your data. Under Colombian Law 1581 of 2012 you can know, update, correct and delete your data at any time from Settings or by writing to us.

Question 24

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

In Settings → Danger zone → Delete my account (web or app). Your account and all your data are deleted permanently. Can't sign in? Request it by email: see wanance.com/delete-account.

Question 25

How do I protect my account?

Accepted Answer

Turn on two-step verification in Settings → Security, review your active sessions and, on mobile, lock the app with your fingerprint or Face ID.
